Rebecca Livesey-Wright
Rebecca Livesey-Wright is a a Glasgow-based queer community-focused creative practitioner, working in facilitation & coordination with a curatorial lens. They are driven by an approach of unearthing hidden narratives by putting into dialogue individual experiences & works. Rebecca is committed to working with communities to enhance social inclusion & social justice through the arts & culture. Inspired by their own experiences of single pregnancy and parenthood, they are currently developing a project which will bring artists and single parents together to explore the specific experiences of raising children and existing in the
world as single parents. They are also interested in word-play and creative walking practices and have had work featured in the Spilt Milk Home-Works zine and exhibition as well as the Galoshans exhibitions in Greenock, and have performed and led walking writing workshops and performances at the UKYA festival in Derby and at various community events in Glasgow. Throughout the lockdowns, Rebecca began experimenting with film photography, which has been featured in zines, and more recently they have been designing T-shirts using their kid’s drawings and are awaiting the first prints to arrive!
