Alexandra Kiss

‘Mother Portrait as pillow.’

Alexandra Kiss is an artist and architect living in Toronto, Canada.  She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from The Cooper Union in New York, and a Masters of Architecture from Yale University. Her work is produced in series, and addresses issues regarding the perception of form and identity. Her drawing is heavily influenced by her training in architecture, paying close attention to the precision of line and drawing narrative.  Having become a mother recently she is currently engaged in an autobiographical drawing series about the upheaval and fragmented identity associated with motherhood, while also documenting the mother-daughter relationship, and her daughter’s growth and discoveries.
