Amy Briggs
A self-taught Artist, Amy Briggs lives and works in Fife, Scotland. She received an education in Psychology at the University of St. Andrews and went on to postgraduate studies in Teaching. As a Primary School Teacher, she cultivates creativity every day, but her true passion has always been in her own painting and drawing practice. With the birth of her daughter in 2017 and her son in early 2021, her practice transformed, focusing on what it means to be a mother and a woman. She creates portraits and nudes in watercolour and acrylics, drawing inspiration from her own experiences of pregnancy, breastfeeding and beyond. Her work has most recently been included in our public exhibition, 'Whose Story Is It?', in Edinburgh, and in some online group exhibits and 3D tours.
