Barbara Touati-Evans

Barbara Touati-Evans is interested in investigating connections and disconnections in human relationships through installations and sculptures. She is developing a visual and textural language that explores the rich metaphorical associations of her materials, often thread and yarn, in human emotions, imagination and language. Working with traditional craft like crochet and stitching, she loves colliding them with scientific research in order to challenge and reveal different meanings and perspectives. For Detangling The Knots, an art and neuroscience project funded by Arts Council England, she was lead artist and collaborated with University of Southampton. Her work has been shown at The John Hansard Gallery Southampton, the City Art Gallery Southampton, Red House Museum Christchurch, the Winchester Gallery, The Leyden Gallery London, the West End Centre Aldershot, The White Horse Gallery Marlborough, The National Needle Work Archives Newbury, The Maltings Farnham. Born in 1971 in Nogent sur Marne France, she is based in Hampshire UK.
