Emily Zarse is currently studying her MFA at Indiana University and is a mother of two young girls. Emily is a maker and experiences joy and deep fulfilment through creating with her hands. She returns to the cloth, to the many stitches, to the feel of the fibers in her hand to best express herself, and her deepest truths. Emily create modern, one of a kind fiber art. Her work incorporates recycled cloth, hand stitching, and naturally plant dyed fabrics and her quilts explore the themes of motherhood and identity.
