Imogen Bright Moon
Imogen Bright Moon (1983) is a British Romani studio artist and mother, using traditional crafts techniques in textiles (spinning, weaving, rug-hook making) with integrated painterly aspects, and metal work elements (steel and silver); currently collaborating on a collection of artworks integrating wool, wooden and metal forms. Her work in material practice has a variety of outcomes, including object, sculpture, wall and surface artworks and study pieces. Imogen is the recipient of the Gypsy Maker 5 (2022) arts commission from The Romani Cultural & Arts Company, supported by Arts Council Wales, and is published in Wagtail; The Roma Women's Poetry Anthology (2021), Woven & Worn (2019), The Selkie : Weaving & The Wild Feminine (2018). Imogen's work intersects her experiences of maternal mental health, PMDD, hidden ethnicity and storytelling.
