Jessica Cheetham

Jessica Cheetham is a freelance Visual Artist living in North London. After studying at the London College of Fashion (2010) she worked as a Make Up Artist specialising in SFX for Film and Body-painting for Performance Artists. Her passion is creating ‘Living Art’. By using the body as a canvas and collaborating with Performance Artists (Dancers, Circus Performers, Musicians) she not only transforms the body into art but also reimagines the viewers experience of art itself as it becomes something that can be interacted with rather than observed. The relationship between music, performance and art is at the core of her process. Credits include an Immersive Living Art UV Experience premiering at The Royal Academy Summer Late (2019, London). During lock down Jessica explored using her own body as a canvas, she found the process beneficial to her mental health as well as developing her skills. The practice became even more playful as she fell pregnant with baby Leo and had a new dimension to work with!

“Being pregnant was an incredible experience, I felt as if I was peaking creatively, my body was experiencing a revolution, and I had never felt more empowered, I mean, what can be more inventive than creating life? I am loving my new persona as a mother and looking forward to the art that my new role inspires!”
