Jodie House
I have two grown-up children and my home is Weymouth, a very typical British seaside town. I work as a community artist and am the founder of the Southwest Collage Collective, a supportive place to connect people through accessible art practices. I use found paper, street materials in my collage work as I like to celebrate the beauty in the mundane. I’m a street photographer and connect the two practices by ripping weathered billboards and spray paint. I am passionate about creating spaces that challenge the hierarchy in the arts and enable all communities to explore their ideas, experiences and perspectives through creativity. I am the owner of a community engagement art organisation Houseworks Dorset CIC and work with around 2500 vulnerable children each year encouraging expression and play.
