KimyiBo
KIMYIBO is an artist/mother, educator/artist, Korean/American/migrant living in Switzerland.
Her work ranges from “abstract drawings” to “socially engaged art”. The former expounds upon metaphysical concepts that she extracts from her biography, such as ambivalence, transformation, multi-dimensionality, and simultaneity. The latter is informed by social activism of women of the past and present addressing issues of reproductive rights and care work.
KimyiBo has participated in a number of exhibitions in Seoul, Minneapolis, and Geneva. Her practice extends to involvement with local schools through collaborative projects and workshops. She won a Cultural Community Partnership Grant from Minnesota State Art Board for her projects at Thomas Edison High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
