Stevie Berneray

Stevie Berneray is an abstract artist that experiments with wax, plaster and paint to delve into the shared materiality of herself and non-human entities. How is it that we are all composed of the same matter as stars? And how does this impact our 'being' in the world? Made through the process of discovery, there is communication with the materials that playfully speaks to the deeper interior places of our human condition. The artist asks herself what sings to us within the material experience and ultimately makes us happy?’ Stevie gained an Ma in Fine art from Norwich university of the Arts in 2016 and has primarily worked supporting individuals with intellectual and physical difficulties. Her passions lie both personally and professionally in the impact that creative expression and supporting the imagination can have on our mental health.
