Orbit

Pencil on paper, 40 x 46 cm .

£750

I am currently working on a self-portrait and still-life drawing series exploring motherhood, postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, identity and bodily autonomy.

'Orbit' is a portrait of myself and my daughter surrounded by hydrangea flowers. I chose hydrangeas as a symbol of love, gratitude and peace. This drawing is all about those blissful moments of joy and overwhelming love that you experience as a mother. Moments that bloom in between mundanity and practicality.
