Louise Black
Louise Black is currently studying her MFA in Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee. She is an interdisciplinary artist who develops her practice working with photograph, word play, print, sculpture and installation. Black documents autobiographical events through a range of media, often exploring notions of the maternal influenced by social, cultural and economic inequality. Black aims to portray femininity dominantly, but on her own terms; aware of the patriarchy but refusing to play by its rules. Her work has been selected for the SSA New Graduate Award 2021 and the RSA New Contemporaries 2023, as well as shortlisted for the VAS Graduate Showcase 2021 and ARTSTHREADS Global Design Graduate Show 2021 in collaboration with GUCCI.
