Lily Herbertson
Lily Herbertson is an artist based in the North West of England. Lily’s process uses both digital and analogue techniques, benefitting from developing technologies whilst retaining the originality and authenticity of being handmade. Through animation, printmaking, and collage, Lily works primarily with negative space to build narratives in her images aiming to show that perhaps the stories that we all too often deem unimportant are in fact of equal value. Lily’s practice is inspired by her own experiences of motherhood. Alongside looking after her young children, Lily is currently studying for her master’s degree in Illustration through Falmouth University. Her recent work has focused on using blind embossing to illustrate the invisible labour of motherhood.
