Motherhood is… doing the best you can with what you've got (time, patience, space, will to live... !!!)

Motherhood is… like trying to hold time in your fist, but like water or sand she cannot be held 

Motherhood is… not pink 

‘I Am a Mother and a Woman*’ - an acapella song written and performed by Rebecca Livesey-Wright 

Written during their time as a single parent, spending hours cleaning, caring and creating space for their child left Rebecca feeling, like many parents, as nothing more than their 'title'. 'I Am a Mother and a Woman*' is a reclamation of individuality and a recognition of multiplicity in identity. 

'Woman*' is used to refer to Rebecca's now non-binary/ gender-fluid identity.

For my wee granny. A performance with unfired clay dolly pegs, signifying the love of a grandmother and the fragility of life.

SOPHIE is a Mother artist on the edge. So many edges. A confessional artist, SOPHIE touches the bones. For the past 8 years SOPHIE has lived as a nail artist gathering the intimate truth and the dark side of WOMAN and MOTHER. Asking; 

Who is MOTHER? 

What is MOTHER? 

Where is MOTHER? 

SOPHIE is now laying the table with a cacophony of confessions with the art she has been creating in response to her conversations.
