The print is a black and white photograph of the artists own hand shot on film. Balled up in to a first, with a white handkerchief, this photograph is part of a wider body of work, in which I am exploring grief experienced through the lens of motherhood. Part autobiographical, part performative, I am capturing moments of lived experience, family life and memories. This artwork explores my maternal and paternal relationships as well as the seen/unseen moments of grief, of holding, expressing emotions both in public and private and exploring the soft and vulnerable parts of being human.
